Emotional Farewell as Osayi Kingdom Leaves Rangers for Swedish Side Assyriska

Nigerian goalkeeper Osayi Kingdom has bid an emotional farewell to Nigeria Premier Football League champions Enugu Rangers as he completes a move to Swedish second-division outfit Assyriska Södertälje.

In a heartfelt message shared on his official X account, the former Doma United shot-stopper thanked the management, coaches, teammates, and fans of Rangers for what he described as an unforgettable chapter in his football journey.

“Dear Enugu Rangers International Family, As I bid farewell to this incredible team, I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who made my time here unforgettable.” He wrote “I’m honoured to have worn the Rangers’ jersey and contributed to the team’s success. The memories, lessons, and experiences gained will stay with me forever.”

Kingdom’s contract with Rangers was mutually terminated to facilitate his move to Europe a significant step in his professional career.

The talented goalkeeper, known for his composure and reflexes, will now be looking to make his mark in Sweden with Assyriska Södertälje as he begins a new chapter in European football.

Osayi had previously featured for NPFL sides including Doma United before joining Rangers, where he played a key role in their recent domestic campaign.

His departure marks not just a professional milestone but also a personal one, as he carries the hopes of many aspiring Nigerian goalkeepers aiming to break into the European football scene.
