“Emo” mystery is what one can describe the recent killing of an abducted 400 level student by kidnappers in the forests of Bwari.
We thank God for the proactive measures of the FCT henchman Nyesom Wike, who against all odds visited the area and held meeting with traditional rulers ,stakeholders and security agencies on how to curb the menace.
Shortly,the abductees of same family were rescued by security agents without payment of Ransome.
We all have to thank the FCT Minister, the Police, Army and the officers of IGP special intervention squad/ intelligence response team under deputy commissioner of Police Mohammed Sanusi.
With the doggedness and timely intervention of the FCT Minister, this would not have been possible.
Today,the bushes and forests of Bwari have been cleared and some of the kidnappers arrested including weapons, cartridges and arms. Sustaining the FCT security action plan is one goal Wike must further sustain.
The fct markets management limited under it acting managing director Engr Yakubu Abbas as monitored in Kapital Fm, Boss FM, Leadership newspaper and the business and politics television has directed all market managers under the management to improve security in all FCT markets as abandoned vehicles are set to be evacuated and vigilance enhanced.
The acting managing director emphasised that it has become necessary going by influx of people in and out of markets and their security must be guaranteed through vigilance,disguised intelligence gathering and foot patrol across the segments of markets in fct.
I found the gesture of the AMML acting MD interesting because no one tool his or her mind towards the market. I vividly belief that all other executives of the fcta that generates revenue like the parks and recreation,road traffic services,park and pay,Agis and others will also follow suit. The fct Minister alone cannot achieve improved security without collaboration which makes it a point of call for all and sundry to give him the needed support for a secured fct.
I like to urge the FCT security services department to support honest gestures for improved security.
The Army, Police,DSS, NSCDC and other relevant security agencies in FCT should interface with the market management so as to make the market space secured.
As the onslaught against armed bandits,kidnappers and other criminal elements continue, I want to vehemently commend the FCT Minister for the bold step taken. God bless u sir.
