The Honourable Minister of State for Works, Muhammad Bello Goronyo has pledged the federal government’s unwavering support in providing critical infrastructure to drive tourism growth across Nigeria, stating that roads and transport networks will be central to the nation’s tourism revival strategy.
Speaking at the Welcome to Nigeria Expo 2025, in Abuja, the Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Works is strategically aligning with the national tourism agenda to ensure seamless access to cultural, historical, and ecological sites across the country.
The two-day event, organized by the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy in collaboration with Welcome to Nigeria Ltd, brought together high-level stakeholders under the theme: “National Agenda for Tourism Partnership on Infrastructural Development, Institutional Linkages, Growth and Sustainable Development.”
“The theme of this year’s expo deeply resonates with our Ministry’s mission,” the Minister said. Citing destinations like the Obudu hills, River Niger, Lagos’ cultural enclaves, and the savannah landscapes of the north, the Minister noted that improving access to these areas will open new opportunities for local economies and international investment.
“Our participation in this Expo is more than ceremonial, it is an affirmation of our readiness to work with industry leaders, cultural ambassadors, and international partners to build a future where tourism and infrastructure evolve together,” he said.
The Welcome to Nigeria Expo 2025 served as a convergence point for policymakers, private sector players, development partners, and cultural icons, all united by a shared goal, to position Nigeria as a premier tourism destination by leveraging infrastructure and institutional synergy.
