The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.
A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on Monday confirmed the development.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo congratulated the Muslim Ummah both in Nigeria and the Diaspora on the occasion and called on them to continue to uphold the spirit of sacrifice and faith as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).
He also urged Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity in the country.
The Minister emphasized that the people-oriented reforms being implemented under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration are designed to place Nigeria firmly on the path of national progress.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged all citizens to support the government’s efforts in restoring the nation’s lost glory and building a united, prosperous Nigeria.
