The Federal Government has automated the authentication and evaluation of academic credentials, ending the need for physical visits to the Federal Ministry of Education for the process.
The Ministry of Education announced that all applications will now be handled exclusively through its official verification portal, as part of efforts to improve transparency, efficiency and data management in the education sector.
According to the ministry, the transition aligns with the government’s broader digital transformation agenda and is aimed at strengthening service delivery while ensuring the integrity of academic records.
“With the introduction of the new system, all applications for authentication and evaluation of academic credentials will now be processed strictly online,” the ministry said.
Applicants are required to register and upload relevant documents via the designated portal. In addition, academic transcripts must be sent directly by the issuing institutions from their official email addresses to the ministry for verification.
The ministry stressed that the new system eliminates the need for in-person verification, noting that the entire process will now be conducted electronically.
Officials said the move is expected to simplify procedures, reduce processing time and enhance the credibility of academic credential verification across the country.
