The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed that four people, including a couple and two suspected carjackers, lost their lives in a fatal motor vehicle accident along the Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway by Mabushi Underbridge, Abuja.

The confirmation was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

According to the statement, preliminary investigations revealed that the accident occurred at about 1:30 p.m. after three unidentified suspects accosted a grey Toyota Highlander, with registration number ABJ 206 EC, near Berger Junction, Utako. The vehicle was being driven by one Emeka Ehekweme, who was in the company of his wife.

The statement added that the driver of the Mazda, identified as Suleman Mohammed, escaped with no life-threatening injuries.

“The Command commiserates with the families of the deceased and assures the public of a thorough investigation to ascertain the facts of the matter,” Adeh noted.
