The recent removal of the management of the Abuja Market Management Limited has been eulogized by the Oodua Integrity group.
They called In the minister to sustain the earlier Annual general meeting of shareholders of AMML, which sacked the management of Abubakar Usman Farouk and replaced him with Engr Mohammed Abbas Yakubu.
The group’s President Babajide Olaosebikan, made this known during a special market agenda roundtable for the FCT minister in Abuja.
Babajide emphasised that it is imperative to rightly inform the honourable Minister of development to properly guide him not to make mistakes.
“So far, it is the management of Abubakar Usman Farouk who earlier got a court injunction to remain in office after his sack by the shareholders that has been sacked.
“For legality, the Minister should sustain the candidate of the shareholders who are the owners of the company. The AMML is a joint ownership between the Fct investment company and private businessmen and women.
“Even though many of the markets have been sold but the remaining ones are owned by these two sides. FCT minister is newly appointed, and as such courtesy demands that we put the record straight to him. Since he was appointed fct Minister, there has been issues related to improper administrative guidance to the Minister by the legal and administrative staffs due to reasons known to them.
“We want Wike to succeed hence our input. We have done it on the issue of treasury director recently. It is also imperative to digress into the market management because were the Minister properly briefed on the controversy of Abubakar Farouk Usman, the AMML matter would have been treated seperately.
“We expect the best from the Minister by recognising and accepting the decision and resolution of the shareholders”, the group added.
