Islamic Music Community Mourns the Loss of Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso

The Islamic music world has mourned the death of Almira Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso, an Islamic singer known for her soulful contributions to the propagation of Islam through her art.

Rukayat, daughter of renowned Islamic musician Alhaji Razaq Gawat, followed in her father’s footsteps, captivating audiences with her powerful voice and meaningful lyrics. Her music has served as a source of spiritual nourishment for many, earning her a special place in the hearts of her fans.

The sad news of her passing was announced by respected Ilorin-based cleric, Alfa Aribidesi At-Tawdeeh Islamic Da’awah, via his Facebook page on Tuesday morning. The announcement quickly spread, plunging the Islamic music community into mourning.

With several albums to her name, including ‘Ounje Omo’ and ‘Egbi Okan,’ Rukayat’s legacy as a talented artist and devout Muslim lives on. Her absence will be deeply felt by music lovers, her fans, and the entire community she inspired.
