First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged young Nigerians to remain focused and hardworking while using education, innovation, entrepreneurship and active citizenship to achieve their aspirations.
Oluremi made the call in a message marking the 2026 International Youth Day, observed on August 12, with the theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.”
She noted that despite coming from diverse backgrounds and facing different challenges, young people share common aspirations for quality education, meaningful employment, equal opportunities and a more sustainable future.
The First Lady encouraged Nigerian youths to pursue their dreams, maximise their potential and contribute to building a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
“Use education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and active citizenship to pursue your dreams, fulfil your potential, and help build a more peaceful and prosperous Nigeria,” Oluremi said.
She also called for a renewed commitment to supporting and empowering young people through the creation of opportunities that would enable them to realise their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society.
Oluremi wished young Nigerians a happy International Youth Day and urged stakeholders to continue creating an environment where young people can thrive and make positive contributions to the country.
