The Federal Government has released the results of the 2024 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for admissions into JSS1 at Federal Unity Colleges.
Announcing the results at a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday, the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Yusuf Sununu, noted that the highest score achieved was 203.
Sununu reported that 66,931 of the 71,291 registered candidates sat for the exam, while 4,360 were absent.
“One candidate obtained the highest score of 203 out of a maximum of 210, while 13 candidates scored the lowest with one.
“This year, an unprecedented 52 candidates (two from Lagos State and 50 from Rivers State) were involved in examination malpractice.
“For the Federal Government Academy (FGA) examination, 2,649 candidates registered, 2,336 took the exam, and 313 were absent.
“The highest score in this exam was 180, and the lowest was five,” he stated.
The minister confirmed that the criteria for admission into Federal Unity Colleges remain unchanged, with 60 percent merit, 30 percent state equality, and 10 percent exigency.
He instructed the Senior Secondary Education Department to ensure all admission processes are completed promptly and in accordance with these criteria.
“As you know, Federal Unity Colleges are the first choice for many parents in the country.
“I assure all Nigerian parents that the government will continue to improve infrastructure, feeding, and teacher quality for effective teaching and learning in our colleges,” he added.
