The Minister of Defence, Badaru Abubakar, has reiterated federal government commitment to safeguarding members of the Nigerian Armed Forces carrying out their lawful responsibilities across the country.
Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, gave the assurance on Wednesday at a press briefing marking the commencement of activities for the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day at the National Defence College, Abuja.
Abubakar emphasized that the government would not tolerate any form of attack or intimidation against military personnel performing their legitimate duties, noting that the ministry remains resolute in ensuring their safety and morale.
“At the ministry and indeed the armed forces, we will always protect our officers on lawful duty,” the Minister stated.
“Rest assured that any officer on lawful duty will be protected. I will not allow anything to happen to any officer doing his job and doing his job credibly well.”
