The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed more than 55,000 operatives across the country to safeguard lives, property, and critical national assets during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, stated that the deployment aims to strengthen the nation’s security framework, particularly during festive periods when criminal elements often attempt to exploit vulnerabilities.
Audi directed Zonal Commanders to closely monitor formations under their jurisdiction, while State Commandants are tasked with coordinating area commands, divisions, and other operational units to ensure comprehensive coverage.
He also reaffirmed the Corps’ readiness to collaborate with sister security agencies and urged citizens to cooperate and support security efforts to ensure a peaceful festive season.
