Comrade Salihu Dantata Mahmud of the Northern Youth Empowerment and Enlightenment Forum has urged Nigerians to pursue education to better understand the nature of interviews, responding to criticisms by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) over Sultan Muhammad Saad Abubakar’s comparison of certain negative social media posts to acts of terrorism.
His words: “In case the illiterate Emma who signed the press statement is not aware, some social media post negatively posted have caused chaos, incited the public and as well promoted immorality in our society this is what the sultan meant so for ipob saying he should solve the problem of herdsmen so far to the best of our knowledge the sultan as the leader of Muslims in Nigeria and sultan of Sokoto has done his best by carrying out visitation and enlightenment on the entire fulbe tribe inorder to call and educate some of their subjects involved in herders/farmers clash,banditry as well as other crimes inimical to our living.
“As the chairman of the Nigeria Interfaith Council he has been preaching peace and coexistence amongst Muslims and Christians in the country unlike IPOB made up of criminals,disgruntled elements and unpatriotic people who under the unknown gunmen murder even their kinsmen in their desperate mood to get a republic not supported by reasonable igbo people.
“We therefore warn IPOB to desist from casting aspersion on reputable monarchs and religious leaders like his eminence the sultan of Sokoto who has paid his dues as a military officer who fought to unite Nigeria and retired as a brigadier general.
“As for IPOB members, their main known trade is destruction of lives and properties and rebelling against state. Ipob should focus it attention on how to release their incarcerated leaders like Simon Ekpa and Nnamdi Kanu. They should learn to respect elders and leaders.”
Professor Khalifa Dikwa the chairman of the board of trustees of the NYEEF said Criminal IPOB are also terrorists who are not qualified to respond to Sultan as leader of all Muslims.
“IPOB and Boko haram are terrorists created and sponsored from the same foreign source.
That’s why Igbo Muslims and good Igbo Christians are not part of IPOB.
IPOB,OPC,Boko Haram,Niger Delta arsonists are all terrorists who devilishly ignorant of Holy scriptures hence their misuse of context in diabolic statements while our unlettered people are more enlightened than them in terms of being privy to world events. They are as ignorant as their Oyibo role models,who make them feel inferior”, he said.
