The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that, beginning with the 2025 Batch ‘C’ orientation exercise, only graduates who have obtained clearance from the Nigeria Education Reposition and Databank (NERD) will be eligible for mobilization.
This directive follows the approval of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) as conveyed in a circular from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Ref No: 58524/III/579, dated August 8, 2025.
The new policy was contained in a memo issued on October 7, 2025, and signed by the NYSC Director of Corps Mobilisation, Mrs. R.O. Ideawor, titled “Service-Wide Compliance with the Provisions of the Nigeria Education Reposition and Databank (NERD) Policy.”
The memo, addressed to all Heads and Registrars of Corps Producing Institutions, directed that only uploads with NERD clearance will be processed for mobilization henceforth.
It reads: “You are also implored to inform your graduates to report to orientation camps with their NERD clearance slips as this now forms part of requirement for registration at the camp.
“While thanking you for your usual cooperation, be assured of the highest regards of the Director-General.”
