The operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on Monday, June 23, thwarted a robbery operation in the Zone E Extension of Apo Resettlement, Abuja, averting what could have been a major crime incident.
According to the FCT Police Command, officers were deployed to the scene following a distress call about suspicious activity in the area. Upon arrival, the robbers engaged the police in a gun duel, resulting in the death of one suspect, while others fled.
“We remain committed to ensuring the safety of all residents in Abuja. This operation is a testament to our quick response capacity and zero tolerance for crime,” a senior police official said.
Investigations are ongoing to apprehend fleeing members of the gang. The police have also urged residents to report any suspicious activity promptly.
