The Global Information Team has called for the immediate suspension of the Director of RUWASA, top officials and total reposting of others, over corruption on the suspension fct public convenience initiative, sold to the hitherto reductant agency by a private sector player, Messrs SY engineering ltd .
The organization after an open condemnation of the FCT authorities on inability to tackle open defecation, summoned the courage to sell the idea to the agency, which later got the endorsement of both the FCT Minister and Minister of state.
However, the Ruwasa management after getting much allocation to build public toilets across FCT breach their memorandum of understanding with the collaborating company which made the project to be suspended.
The agency went into campaign of calumny against Messrs SY engineering, by misinforming the general public that the company was weak and therefore disengaged.
The digital age made the GIT to commenced a disguised investigation which exposed the fact that sharing formula and corruption at the part of Ruwasa officials created the problem.
“We want the fct permanent secretary to probe the agency.We are disturbed that after a much publicised groundbreaking at Area 1, which had in attendance the immediate past Water Resources Minister, immediate past Minister of state, Permanent secretary and other officials.
” With all the penchant,/the project has been suspended. Fct is too sensitive to be left without public convenience. As such,we demand revisiting of the project according to international environmental standard.”
