The Dangote Group has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Ruth Otabor, sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Phyna, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a recent road accident involving one of the company’s trucks in Auchi, Edo State.
In a statement released on its official X account, the company said:
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ruth Otabor, who was injured in the recent road incident involving one of our trucks in Auchi, Edo State. On behalf of the entire Dangote Group, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones at this difficult time.”
The company noted that arrangements had been made to fly Ruth to India for advanced medical treatment, pending clearance from her doctors.
The family announced her death on Sunday through a statement by Eko Solicitors & Advocates, saying Ruth passed on to glory earlier at about 6:30 a.m.
The family added that they are grieving and requested privacy to mourn Ruth, as date for the funeral arrangement will be communicated to the public in due course.
