The movement for the emancipation of FCT indigenes has described as callous, ill informed and political the recent protest against the amiable FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, staged at the National Assembly devoid of facts and reasoning.
In a statement by Adayilo David publicity secretary of the group, he emphasised that since the assumption of office of Nyesom Wike as FCT, various transformations have taken place amongst which are superior order in the reopening of the Abuja market. The management officer hitherto involved in leadership crisis which reduced market revenue for the FCT administration.
“Only a neutral, dogged and fearless Wike could dare the embattled AMML MD who dared the past minister and held shareholders ransom. Similarly, Nyesom Wike ensured that the FCTA is exempted from the treasury single account so as to ease bureaucracy and attract development, earned much revenue from payment of ground rent, provided SUVs for traditional rulers on security collaboration, ensured general clearance of hoodlums and slum so as to secure the FCT, introduced ministerial interaction and also processing of CofO for estate plots.
“The protesters are sponsored by antagonists who do not wish the FCT well. Fhe Abuja markets are some of the major work place of many who earn a living from sales, the crisis between the leadership made it stand still but a committed and determined Wike resolved the matter. We want to urge the general public to ignore the fallacy and myopic calls of the protesters aimed at destabilising and distracting the hardworking minister.
