Taraba Government Distributes N524 Million to Over 10,406 Vulnerable Residents

In a bid to alleviate poverty and improve the livelihoods of Taraba state citizens, The Taraba State Government has taken a significant step in distributing N524 million to 10,409 vulnerable individuals across the state.

During the disbursement event in Jalingo, the state capital, Deputy Governor Aminu Alkali emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable households.

He said, “We are supporting these individuals to expand their small and medium enterprises, with the goal of reviving the local economy and creating more jobs.

“With these efforts, we hope that within the next year, Taraba will no longer have any vulnerable residents.”

He also urged beneficiaries to use the funds wisely to ensure long-term benefits for themselves and their communities.

James Habu, the state’s Commissioner for Co-operatives and Poverty Alleviation, added that the government is determined to eradicate poverty and is fully committed to the course.

“The state government increased the number of beneficiaries during the third phase to over 10,000, leading to the disbursement of N524 million.

“The government is determined to eradicate poverty and is fully committed to this cause,” he said.
