Terrible crash claim 4 lives in Niger State

A devastating road accident occurred on February 3, 2025, in Agaie Local Government Area, Niger State, along the Agaie-Lapai road, near Al’Farma International School. The crash involved a head-on collision of three trailer trucks, one of which was transporting cattle and goats.

According to Abdullahi Baba-Arah, Director General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), the accident was caused by reckless overtaking. The incident resulted in the loss of four lives, with two people dying at the scene and two others succumbing to their injuries at the hospital.

In his words Baba-Arah stated that 

“The unfortunate incident, which occurred this afternoon, has claimed the lives of four persons, two people died at the spot, while two others died at the hospital.

“About 15 cattle died along with more than 20 goats. As of the time of filing this report, 13 injured persons have been rushed to Agaie General Hospital and are receiving treatment”
