The Senate President, His Excellency, Godswill Akpabio has met with the Chief Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission, Hon Abimbola Ayo-Yusuf, some Federal Commissioners and top Management staff of the Commission on Thursday February 15, 2024 over the shortfall in the Commission’s budgetary allocation.
The Senate President expressed his willingness to assist PCC through the relevant offices to get funds from the Service Wide Vote to augment the Commission’s personnel cost deficit in order to resolve the lingering crisis over salaries before the approval of the proposed new minimum wage comes into effect.
Earlier, the Chief Commissioner had narrated the several efforts the Commission had made in that direction which were yet to yield any fruit.
Meanwhile , the Senate President has directed the immediate opening of the gate of the Commission by the organized Joint Unions of the Commission to enable staff resume work and has invited them to his office for a meeting on Monday, February 19th, 2024.
