Tragedy struck at an Islamiyyah school in the Kuchibiyu Community of Bwari Area Council, Abuja, on Monday, when an explosion claimed the life of one student and left four others injured. The incident occurred around noon, sending shockwaves through the community.
According to a security source, the explosion happened when a student, whose identity has not been confirmed, carried a substance suspected to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) into the school.
The device detonated, injuring four other students and causing widespread panic.
Emergency responders, including the police bomb disposal squad, rushed to the scene to provide assistance.
The injured students were taken to a hospital for treatment, but the police have yet to comment on the incident.
