The United Nations, UN, Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, has called for immediate cease of hostility by Iran on Israel.
This was as a result of the hundreds of drones and missiles launched by Iran toward Israel, on Saturday.
The UN, Secretary General in a statement pleaded for maximum restraint by all parties, so as to avoid any action that could lead to major Military confrontation.
The statement reads, “I call for an immediate cessation of these hostilities,
“I urge all parties to exercise maximum restraint to avoid any action that could lead to major military confrontations on multiple fronts in the Middle East.”
He further stated that the world could not afford a war at this present time.
“I have repeatedly stressed that neither the region nor the world can afford another war,” he added.
