Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen has taken legal action against Turkish journalist Tolga Bozduman, accusing him of defamation following claims that the striker was involved in an assault incident after a recent match.
Bozduman alleged that Osimhen punched him while attempting to take photographs outside a venue shortly after Galatasaray’s dramatic 3-3 draw with Dynamo Kyiv. The journalist further claimed the Napoli loanee offered money to suppress video evidence of the supposed altercation, sparking a wave of controversy.
In response, Osimhen has categorically denied the accusations, describing them as “fabricated and defamatory.” Through a statement released by Super Eagles media officer Promise Efoghe, the 26-year-old dismissed the allegations as a malicious attempt to tarnish his reputation.
The case has shifted attention from Osimhen’s remarkable on-field performances this season—16 goals and five assists in 21 appearances for Galatasaray—to an intense off-pitch legal battle. Observers now await the court proceedings to unravel the truth behind the allegations.
