Julipad Chairman, Mrs Jummai Atti,
has called for the zoning of the Inspector General of Police office to the Southwest. She emphasised that DIG Kayode Egbetokun should be the qualified man for the job.
“This has become necessary to promote and sustain national unity and cohesion. At this point, an exposed, experienced and intelligent inspector general of Police like Egbetokun is needed to reform the Police force.
“A Former Commissioner of Police in Kwara state, Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 7, and now a Deputy Inspector General of Police possess all the qualities to hold this exalted position.
“As a former Chief Security Officer to a Governor in 1999, this qualified him to bridge the gap between the states and Federal government in the area of effective policing.
Kogi state-born Jummai further implored her fellow Northerners to support the choice of Egbetokun whom he believe could transform the Police.
The Ogun state-born top cop has vast experience and as a mother draws support for him.
