We did not increase exam fee- Federal Poly Oko

The Students of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State led by the Executive members of the Student Union Government  has expressed their displeasure towards the school authority over the imposition of N5000 examination fee and other school levies, through a peaceful protest earlier in the week.

The Institution had notified the students that the N5000 examination fee in question is an old fee and denied the increase in the examination fee for the students.

This was disclosed in a press statement on Friday Where the Public Relations Officer of the Institution said that the N5000 examination fee was approved then by the governing council.

The Statement reads “The attention of the Management of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, has been drawn to the news story making the rounds on the social media domain and some mainstream media on alleged imposition of examination fee on students by the management.

“The N5,000 examination fee in question is an old fee which was approved by the then governing council and students were informed about it. It is part of the cumulative fees that were approved for payment by students per session.”.

It was revealed that the Protest led to the interruption of Academic and Non Academic activities even as their examination was shifted and put on hold for the mean time.
