Yellow Fever Vaccination exercise will commence on July 10 in Jigawa state. The state has call on the traditional rulers, religious leaders and media to collaborate with the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHDA) to fight the menace of the Yellow Fever outbreak.
The Immunization Officer, Dr Hassan Kwallam, while speaking with newsmen on Tuesday, at the Medical Cold room in Dutse said the exercise is expected to start soon across the 27 local government areas of the state, adding that the Vaccination exercise is targeting people with ages, from nine months to 44 years.
According to him, the exercise the Vaccination exercise will start on July 10, 2023 and last for ten days, adding that the is exercise is expected to cover the entire 27 local government areas of the state within the period of ten days.
“it would involve 1,728 ad hoc staff, trained on various rules of engagement during the operation. Three teams among the workers will concentrate on the 287 political wards across the state.” He added.
Kwallam said the state government has spent a lot of money in for the preparation of the exercise.
He added that government would provide all the finances for the supervision and monitoring of the exercise and unemployed health workers in the state, who will be recruited and use for the exercise.
“For sure the locals have to be recruited and the communities have to be given a priority,” he added
