A Kaduna based Non Governmental Organisation, Gyara Nigeria Transformation Initiative, has supported the Global Information Team, regarding the allegedly age imbroglio from the Customs Comptroller General.
The group’s spokesperson Sadam Danlami Musbau, emphasized that the Customs Controller General should answer the simple ABC question for the sake of his integrity and honour.
“There is nothing wrong, especially under a democratic setting for any person or group to be inquisitive about public office holders.
Patricia Etteh, Salisu Buhari, Evan S Enwerem and others once had their fair share in certificate corruption, and other controversies and the rest is now history.
“The Customs service is a very strong institution that must be superintended by only credible, competent and qualified people hence the request. The customs boss was at several times in charge of the public relations of the service and understands the importance of publicity and media investigation.
“Nigerians expect a straightforward answer from the customs CG, stating his age, and the relevant dates. The information also making rounds points to the fact that the customs CG, once worked with the Nigeria Railway corporation, before enlisting into the Customs service.
” When his years in NRC are added to his years in customs, then how old is he, and how many years has he spent in service”, he said.
