Nigeria’s senior women’s football team, the Super Falcons, continue to assert their dominance in African football, retaining their position as the continent’s top-ranked team in the latest FIFA Women’s Ranking released on Thursday, March 6, 2025.
Despite fierce competition from rising teams such as South Africa and Morocco, Nigeria remains unshaken at the summit of African women’s football.
Globally, the Super Falcons hold steady at 36th place, maintaining their ranking from the previous update. While they are yet to break into the top tier of women’s football on the global stage, their consistency highlights their resilience and potential for growth.
South Africa, Morocco, Zambia, and Ghana complete Africa’s top five, reflecting a growing competitiveness within the continent.
On the global front, the United States leads the rankings, followed closely by Spain, Germany, and England. Japan, Sweden, Canada, Brazil, Korea DPR, and the Netherlands round out the world’s top ten.
