Wizkid, Ayra Starr, Niko Omilana Shine at 2026 MOBO Awards in Manchester

Nigerian music stars Wizkid and Ayra Starr, alongside British-Nigerian media personality Niko Omilana, were among the top winners at the 2026 MOBO Awards held in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Wizkid secured the Best African Music Act award, emerging ahead of a competitive field that included Davido, Rema, Shallipopi, Tiwa Savage, and Adekunle Gold.

Ayra Starr was named Best International Act, outperforming global contenders such as Cardi B, Gunna, and Kehlani.

In the media category, Omilana clinched the Best Media Personality award, finishing ahead of nominees including Bemi Orojuogun, widely known as Bus Aunty, and DJ Remi Burgz.

Several individuals of Nigerian heritage also featured among the nominees. German-Nigerian singer Odeal received nominations in both the Best Male Act and Best R&B/Soul Act categories. In the film and television category, actors Wunmi Mosaku, Damson Idris, Dayo Koleosho, and Cynthia Erivo were nominated for Best Performance in a TV Show or Film.
