Popular actress and social media influencer, Alexandra Asogwa, widely recognized as Alex Unusual, has clarified that her temporary absence from social media had nothing to do with the recent rumors linking her to comedian Ayodeji Makun, also known as AY.
According to Alex, she had already taken a break from social media weeks before the pregnancy rumors surfaced and was unaware of the controversy until it gained traction.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, Alex explained, “I had left social media weeks before the AY pregnancy controversy went viral. I had other reasons, and I had no idea there was an issue. I heard about it just like everybody else. I was not even on social media. It was when it happened that a lot of people started looking for me. They ran to my social media pages and noticed I had left. Then, some people started spreading different stories. That is how the media works, and if I had started to bother about that, I won’t be able to live my life.”
“I had other things I needed to focus on, and I needed to take a social media break. It was such a convenient time for what happened to happen and people decided to run with whatever news that made it more interesting. I really cannot be bothered about that.
“The news was actually funny to everyone, including AY, his wife, and my family. We were surprised, because it made no sense. I was not sure how that story came to be, but I just feel like when people see that one is a good person, it feels too good to be true. So, it is very easy for them to feel like they can dent one’s image just because one is good. But, nobody is perfect; and not everyone is bad.”
Addressing the alleged separation between AY and his wife, Alex made it clear that she had no involvement or knowledge of their relationship issues. She added, “I don’t even know what caused their breakup, and I have no comment on their marriage. I’m cool with both of them, and we don’t have any issues. It’s just another case of the internet stirring up stories for traffic, and if my name happens to bring attention, then so be it.”
