A Businesswoman Rukayat Muhammad has called on the government to create an enabling environment for small businesses.
While stating that the removal of fuel subsidies has made things difficult for small businesses to survive.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent, she said her business is facing some challenges as a result of fuel subsidy removal.
“My business is thriving well, I send my goods through way bill, but now I have a small challenge with the drivers, because of the high cost of transportation, now everything is very expensive
“Before I buy goods to go and waybill the goods, I used to collect like 6000 or 5000 or 4000 Naira. Since the fuel problem, I started paying 15,000 to 18,000 Naira on the waybill.
“ I sell wrappers and pay the high cost of transport from N15,000 or N18,000 and there is no gain. We are just managing and I have been in the business for more than 10 years,” the businesswoman said.
She also advised women not to stay idle and encouraged them to start something to help themselves and their families.
Rukayat urged
“No matter the capital whether it is 2000 Naira, at least one day, it will grow. I am a living progression, I started small and today it Is a success story,” she added.
