Following an alleged threat to the life of NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, the Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, has called on President Bola Tinubu to enhance her security.
The Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye has raised concerns over threats to her life and the security of the agency’s staff.
Afenifere, through its Organizing Secretary, Abagun Kole Omololu, stressed that Adeyeye’s alarm over threats to her life and her staff’s safety should not be overlooked.
In the statement, the group urged President Tinubu to swiftly strengthen security for Prof. Adeyeye, her family, and her staff, emphasizing that her dedication in returning to serve the country deserves recognition and protection.
Omololu underscored Adeyeye’s vital role in Nigeria’s battle against fake drugs, hazardous consumables, and criminal networks exploiting human suffering.
“Any attempt on her life is an assault on public health, national security, and the fabric of a lawful society. Nigeria cannot afford to abandon those who risk everything for the greater good,” Omololu stated.
“These officials must be provided with armored vehicles, elite security personnel, and advanced surveillance systems. Their families must also be protected during and after their service,” he added.
“Nigeria cannot turn a blind eye while purveyors of deadly drugs roam free. This is a battle for national survival, and the stakes could not be higher.”
