The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Dr. Umar Majigi as its substantive Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, CON.
According to the statement, the decision reflects Dr. Majigi’s expertise, professionalism, and contributions to the development and continuous upgrading of the APC’s ICT architecture.
Dr. Majigi holds a Ph.D. in Cybersecurity Science, in addition to other academic and professional qualifications in web design, programming, and data processing. Prior to this appointment, he served as Assistant Director of ICT at the Party’s National Secretariat and was later elevated to Acting Director of ICT, where he provided both strategic leadership and operational support.
The statement revealed that As Acting Director, “Dr. Majigi was instrumental to the development and strengthening of APC’s ICT infrastructure, overseeing data management systems and deploying digital technologies that enhanced Party operations nationwide.
“Most recently, he played a strategic role in the implementation of the Party’s membership e-registration system, significantly improving the credibility, efficiency, and accessibility of the APC membership database.”
The APC noted that Dr. Majigi’s appointment underscores the party’s commitment to merit-based practices, institutional continuity, and the strengthening of internal capacity through the promotion of experienced and competent personnel.
