The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, a distinguished politician and elder statesman.
Clark, who was the leader of the Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), was a vocal advocate for the socio-economic emancipation and human environmental rights of the people of the South-South region, particularly the oil-rich Niger Delta
Clark had a distinguished career in politics, serving as Commissioner for Education in the Mid-Western Region from 1968 to 1971, Commissioner for Finance and Establishment in the defunct Bendel State in 1972, and Commissioner for Information in 1975. He was also elected as a Senator in the Second Republic.
The APC described Clark’s death as a “colossal loss” that creates a void difficult to fill. They extended condolences to his family, friends, the Ijaw nation, and the government and people of Delta State. The party prayed for comfort during this difficult time and for Clark’s soul to find eternal rest .
Clark passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the age of 97 .
