APC Unveils Timetable for 2027 General Elections

The All Progressives Congress has released its timetable and schedule of activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Details of the schedule were contained in a document endorsed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu.

The timetable outlines key activities, including timelines for screening of aspirants, appeals processes, and primary elections, as well as guidelines for the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms.

The statement was signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.

According to the schedule, the sale of forms will run from April 25 to May 2, 2026, while the deadline for submission of completed forms is May 4. Screening of aspirants is expected to take place from May 6 to May 8, with the presidential screening slated for May 9.

Primary elections are scheduled to begin with the presidential primary between May 15 and May 16, while other contests, including National Assembly and governorship primaries, will hold between May 18 and May 23.

The ruling party said the outlined activities are aimed at ensuring a structured and orderly process leading up to the elections.

It also reaffirmed its commitment to conducting transparent and credible primaries, noting that the process would further strengthen internal democracy within the party.
