Bandits Kill Six, Abduct Two in Katsina Community Attack

In a devastating assault on Jargaba community in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State, bandits killed six individuals and abducted two others during a late-night raid on Thursday.

The attackers, arriving in large numbers, targeted a communal area where residents typically gather to socialize. They opened fire indiscriminately, resulting in the deaths of six men, including an assistant commander of the local Community Watch Corps.

Katsina State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the incident
“Yes, bandits attacked the community and shot people. Two died on the spot, while four others who were injured yesterday were also confirmed dead today, making a total of six people that were killed”,he said

Additionally, two children sustained injuries from stray bullets during the attack. The assailants also abducted two women from a nearby residence.

Hon. Abdulrahman Ahmed, the lawmaker representing Bakori Constituency in the Katsina State House of Assembly, expressed deep concern over the security challenges facing the area.
He stated, “I received calls yesterday from residents of Jargaba ward ,that bandits attacked the community. They moved straight to a gathering of six people who were resting and opened fire on them, killing all on the spot.”
