The Customs Comptroller, General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi who rose through the commissioned rank to his present position, can be described as one paramilitary service chief whose humility, dedication to duty and adherence to rules of engagements made it possible for the Tinubu administration to appoint him as the customs helmsman. As the customs longest serving image maker, his positive antecedents further redeemed the image of the service. His tenure from the inception of Tinubu administration has benefitted the general public, especially authorised auctioneers involved in customs auction who hitherto were left in the dark but got included by severely wining auctions through online enclosures. So far, there has been transparency in the scheme of things. Under the Wale Adeniyi tenure,a lot of illegal arms have been apprehended at Idi iroko border, onne sea port, as well as the Jibia Niger border areas. This was made possible as a result of the zero tolerance for corruption by the CG administration. Most revenues have also been geared up as a result of teamwork and expertise put in by his team. The area of staff motivation and human capacity building is not also left out as staff welfare and allowances have been improved to increase productivity and boost morale.
