The Dr. Yusuf John Suberu Foundation has congratulated the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed on winning the prestigious Kofi Annan Road Safety Award, recognizing the agency as Africa’s best road safety institution.
The award was presented during a high-level ceremony held in Eswatini. Representing the Foundation at the event, Dr. Yusuf John Suberu, Founder and President, joined notable dignitaries including the Prime Ministers of Eswatini, the Ministers of Transportation from Cameroon and Eswatini, and Mr. Jean Todt, the United Nations Special Envoy on Road Safety.
The Foundation praised the FRSC’s achievement as a testament to Nigeria’s growing commitment to improving road safety and reducing traffic-related incidents, a vision closely aligned with the Foundation’s mission of advocating safer roads and supporting crash victims.
“This award is a reflection of the collective efforts made toward ensuring safer roads and empowering communities,” said Prof. Suberu Yusuf John. “We are proud to support such transformative initiatives that promote safety, reduce poverty, and enable sustainable development.”
Over the past year, the Dr. Yusuf John Suberu Foundation has impacted more than 5,000 lives through its initiatives in education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation. It also plans to equip an additional 500 youths in the Federal Capital Territory with vocational skills aimed at fostering financial independence and self-reliance.
The Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with government agencies, international bodies, and community stakeholders to further its development goals and create a safer, more prosperous future for all Nigerians.
