The All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat Port Harcourt, River State along Aba Road was attacked with explosives, suspected to be dynamite, in the early hours of Saturday
The blast destroyed the gate, doors, windows, and other property, leaving the building in shambles. This marks the second time the Chief Tony Okocha-led APC has suffered an attack at its secretariat this year.
The incident occurs on the eve of the local government elections, scheduled to take place today. The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission had confirmed on Friday that all sensitive materials had been distributed to the various local government areas.
A viral video from the scene shows workers assessing the damage. Rivers State Police Command spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, stated that she had yet to receive a report but promised to provide updates.
The APC has not issued a statement on the incident.
