Kano State Government distributes educational material to schools

As part of efforts in restoring educational system in Kano state, the state Governor, Abba Yusuf has distributed education materials to schools across the 44 local government areas of the state.

At the flagging off ceremony of the learning materials on Thursday at the Government House, Kano, the governor said his administration is fully committed to addressing issues facing the education system in the state.

Materials distributed include 120,000 cartons of chalks, 97,532 workbooks, 93,600 exercise books, 199,234 classroom registers, 350,000 report sheets, 351 lesson observation books and national anthem booklets.

He said: “I stand before you today as we take yet another step towards getting the education sector on its foot in Kano State.

“This is the revival of the unfortunate state of the education sector in Kano State; with the deteriorating infrastructure, high number of out-of-school children by the former administration.

“I am happy to say that as the people’s government, we are fully committed to addressing these issues in our commitment to restore the educational system.
