Tragedy struck in Delta State when two farm workers, David Tacho and Daniel Orshio, were arrested for allegedly conspiring to kill their site manager, Chigozie Udalor. The suspects’ accomplices, Pius Daniel and Victor Tacho, remain at large .
According to the Delta State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, the crime was uncovered after Udalor’s cousin, Hyacinth Nnalue, reported him missing on December 12, 2024. Udalor managed a fish pond at Bod Camp in Akwukwu-Igbo and had been missing since December 10.
“The suspects were all employed by the deceased. However, after discovering he had money in his Moniepoint account, they conspired, struck him on the head with a hammer, tied him up, and buried him in a shallow grave at the site,”
“On March 31, 2025, operatives arrested David Tacho while attempting to withdraw money from the victim’s account using his phone. His accomplice, Daniel Orshio, was also apprehended.” Edafe stated .
The investigation, led by the Divisional Police Officer and later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, was technically driven and followed the directive of Commissioner of Police Olufemi Abaniwonda. This development is part of the command’s efforts to combat crime and criminality in the state, which has seen significant successes under CP Abaniwonda’s leadership, including over 670 arrests and substantial firearm recoveries .
