A gas cylinder explosion on Wednesday night razed a residential building with shops in the Jamata community, Lokoja, destroying properties worth millions of Naira. The LGA caretaker chairman donated N1m to the victims and promised continued support.
The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and the Royal Father of the Jamata community commiserated with the victims and appreciated the state government’s efforts through SEMA.
The Executive Secretary of Kogi State Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Muktar Atimah, visited the victims and assured them of government support.
“The government is committed to the welfare and security of its citizens and will respond immediately to disasters.”
