The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Mohammed Shehu, has received the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Road Safety Matters to the Kogi State Governor, Dr. Yusuf John Suberu, in his office in Abuja.
Dr. Suberu was at the FRSC headquarters to formally present his letter of appointment as a mark of respect and courtesy.
In a similar gesture, the Director of the Federal Capital Territory Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS), Dr. Abdul Lateef Bello, also hosted Dr. Suberu in his Abuja office. The meeting served as an opportunity to explore areas of collaboration between the FCT and Kogi State in enhancing road safety and traffic management.
The Secretary of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC), also received the newly appointed SSA in her office, where she joined others in commending the Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for what they described as a visionary and strategic appointment.
All three officials praised Governor Ododo for appointing Dr. Suberu—a United Nations Envoy to Nigeria on Road Safety Matters—as his Senior Special Assistant on Road Safety Matters. They noted that this move aligns with the United Nations Decade of Action on Road Safety and Injury Prevention, adding that Governor Ododo is the first Nigerian governor to make such a sensitive and globally relevant appointment.
They offered prayers for Dr. Suberu’s successful tenure and pledged their full support, cooperation, and collaboration in the discharge of his duties to improve road safety in Kogi State and beyond.
