The Arewa Political Monitoring Mechanism has described the utterances of Hakeem Baba Ahmed as lacking base, going by his irrelevance in politics.

The grassroots public office holders under the Tinubu administration like Abubakar Badaru, minister of defence, Nuhu Ribadu, national security adviser, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, minister of state works, Bello Matawalle, minister of state defence, George Akume, secretary to the government of the federation, Ibrahim Geidam, minister of police affairs, Iman Suleiman, minister of women affairs, Hannatu Musawa, minister of entertainment industry, Arch Dangiwa, minister of housing, and a host of others have political base from their wards to local government and state level unlike the ranting Baba Ahmed.
Hakeem, in one of his recent interviews, asked President Tinubu to step aside and allow younger ones to contest. How? What stopped Hakeem from sending similar messages to Atiku Abubakar if he is that patriotic? As selfish as Baba Ahmed is, we have not seen his valuable contribution to human capacity building in the positions of trust he held.
His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu is tackling insecurity in the northeast, northwest, and northcentral regions, and as well opening road networks across the six geopolitical zones. The recent establishment of primary health care centres in more than eight hundred places across Nigeria is also a testimony of his zeal to deliver. Or will Baba Ahmed underplay the economic importance of the reawarded Abuja-Kaduna, Zaria-Kano roads? The flag-off of Lagos-Badagry-Sokoto-Kebbi super highways? Honour must be given to whom it is due.
