If Emefiele,Bawa must be proved, then Customs CG, must be investigated on allegations of age falsification

Armayau Musa .
Sometimes when governments come and start preaching integrity, probity and fight against corruption one wonders whether they are real or not.
The incumbent Tinubu administration arrested both the Governor of Central Bank Emefiele, and EFCC Chairman Bawa, on allegations of terrorism, corruption and fraud.
Till date, they are still in DSS custody. Recently, some online publications and television stations reported a case of alleged age reduction on the part of the Acting Controller General of Nigeria customs service Adeniyi Segun, and no top official of the Tinubu administration has responded to it, nor the Customs authorities.
Nigerians began to ask whether we are equal in this country.
Emefiele is from Delta South South Nigeria, AbdulRasheed Bawa from Kebbi state Northwest Nigeria.
The Tinubu administration must as a matter of integrity before the international community come to reality by asking the Acting Controller General to answer the simple questions raised by the global information team, which is known to have existed since nineties, and known for reportage of developmental issues and fight against corruption.
When allegations are made,it is normal to quickly respond. Afterall a freedom of information bill has been passed by the national assembly. Democracy strives when we practice what it entails. If the Tinubu administration gives deaf ears to this lengthy allegations,it will go a long way to exonerate critics who have criticised the President of romancing with many corrupt people. Corruption is not only when public office holders steal money but as well extends to other crimes like lying under oath, falsifying age, records of service and others. The irony of the whole matter is that the entire customs service lacks a board like those of other paramilitary agencies that regulates it. The seperate arms of the armed forces have councils, the police has police service commission, the civil defence, prisons, immigration and fire services have joint board so where is the customs board where this answers would have better been given by them. The newly appointed Finance Minister is assuming responsibilities at a time controversy rages on his service chief since the Ministry supervises the Customs service . President Ahmed Bola Tinubu should please set up secret committee to ascertain the veracity of allegations raised in the interest of his administration.
