Kogi people in Lagos hosts the Social Democratic Party candidate in November 11th gubernatorial election Hon. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka yesterday 20th August, 2023 in Police College Ikeja.
The purpose of taking campaign out of the state to other states is to encourage voters whose PVC are in Kogi and Kogites in diaspora to come home and render necessary support for voters to do the right thing and protect votes.
Ajaka’s visit was sponsored by passionate Kogites who are not happy with the situation of workers and infrastructure of the state.
The financier of the group is a Kogi born business tycoon Hassan Ogwu—Aku CEO Hanson Properties, Lagos who headed the committee of Kogi indigenes in Lagos. He stated reasons for identifying with Ajaka because of his good works and peaceful nature even without holding any political positions.
Hon. Ajaka gave the people assurance towards the conduct of the election. He said as a former APC member, they have worked day and night to see President Tinubu through to victory that he will equally rescue the state from the current situation. He enjoined Kogites to be patient with the President amidst fuel subsidy removal and hardship witnessed so far that good things has never come so easy.
He said financial palliatives given to states that Kogi also benefited from Mr President’s plan to cushion the effects but Kogites will not feel the impact as the governor who does not pay salaries is not fit to hand such money.
As regards security situation of Kogi and series of attacks on his supporters, Ajaka assured the people of maximum security from the government of Nigeria and also stated that supporters should know that if anything happens to him in the course of this struggle they should be rest assured it is from the governor Yahaya Bello as he has made so many attempts on his life and that of his supporters.
The event was amassed with foods/drinks, series of donations, Kogites from all tribes who are residents in Lagos.
Victory is assured by what we have witnessed so far.
