The Imo State Police Command has successfully dismantled a suspected kidnapping group and arrested an organ harvester suspect in the Douglas Road area of the state.
According to Henry Okoye, the police spokesperson, he stated that
“The arrest followed the swift response of vigilant operatives on visibility patrol, who observed the syndicate in a blue and white bus forcefully taking a 19-year-old young girl to an undisclosed location where they intended to kill her and harvest her organs” .
It was disclosed that the victim managed to jump from the moving bus, enabling the police to rescue her. The suspects, pursued by the officers, abandoned their bus, and while one was arrested, others fled into the surrounding bush. Justine Emmanuel, a 38-year-old male from Amimo in Ikeduru Local Government Area, was apprehended during the operation.
The police have launched an investigation to track down the fleeing suspects and uncover the extent of their criminal activities. Okoye emphasized the Imo police command’s dedication to fighting violent crime and urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to law enforcement authorities.
This successful operation demonstrates the Imo State Police Command’s commitment to combating violent crime and ensuring community safety. The police are working tirelessly to protect citizens and prevent such heinous crimes from occurring.
