The family of late Former Executive Governor of Lagos state and former minister of works and housing Alhaji Dr Lateef Kayode Jakande has expressed shock over the demise of the immediate President Muhammadu Buhari in London today the 13 of July 2025.
The family in a statement signed by Salihu Dantata Mahmud a former Bureau chief of Jakande’s newspaper in Abuja, made the disclosure.
He stated that it is with rude shock that the widow and entire family of LKJ received the news of the death of the former President.
Hon. Deji Jakande a former member of house of representatives, and the son of Jakande also added his voice and conveyed his heartfelt condolence to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
“This is a time for sober reflection, we pray for his soul to rest in Aljanna firdausi and grant us the fortitude to bear the loss.President Buhari and Jakande were both in ANPP together as opposition progressives and had cordial relationship politically.
“Even with Jakande’s incarceration after the Buhari military coup,they forgot their past and forged ahead politically.” “Jakande and Buhari are no more,we pray for their souls to rest in Aljanna firdausi and forgive their shortcomings Salihu added. We cannot forget his war against indiscipline.”
