In a bid to further clamp down on examination malpractice and enhance security at examination centers, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is set to deepen its collaboration with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
During a recent courtesy visit to the NSCDC’s National Headquarters in Abuja, JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, acknowledged the Corps’ contributions in curbing exam-related fraud but emphasized the need for a more structured and centralized security approach.
He further proposed the establishment of a dedicated unit within JAMB to address security challenges affecting both the Board’s headquarters and examination venues.
In response, NSCDC Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, pledged the Corps’ commitment to strengthening security measures for JAMB.
He ordered an immediate review of the strategies and personnel deployed to the Board, reiterating that the NSCDC prioritizes the safety of students and educational institutions across the country.
He said, “The Corps places premium on matters concerning students in the country and therefore does not toil with issues that border on them, the Board, or institutions.”
The reinforced partnership aims to not only eliminate malpractice but also safeguard JAMB’s infrastructure and ensure a seamless examination process for candidates nationwide.
